BOG-A-RAMA
The get together at Willy's house was just an absolute RC-fest. We set up two main towns in his backyard each with an airfield and lots of buildings(about 20) and 1/18 aircraft, tanks etc for props. He's got a very long yard that's about twice as long as the Danville field, and we actually could have included the front if we wanted, but didn't for now. We did some battling in the daytime, had a fantastic lunch outside provided by Willy's wife Yvonne, then a big storm came in, so we got all the electrical stuff in and this is where the real fun began. Roel, Keith, and myself went on a world tour in the BOGMOBILE picking up some more alcohol fuel for Willy, going to Wal-Mart, and a couple of Radio Shacks. This was the absolute best fuckin' ride I had in a long time. These places were in different places surrounding the town, it's pouring raining and Willy's got the BOGMOBILE doing fuckin' 90mph changing lanes, cutting through parking lots, and we're ragging the hell out of him. I swore one time we stopped passing cars and we were passing Klingon battle cruisers or something. I could say a lot more, but the bottom line is that people pay to go on less thrilling rides than that one. It's only to be experienced, and if you get the chance to go to BOGTOWN, get a ride int the BOGMOBILE. Later on we drove trucks, recovery, then everyone went to crash except Roel, Willy, and I and we played with the 1/6 lighted up/go anywhere jeep, and then the fantastic 1/20 scale Garden Rail that was unbelievable. When to of the four train engines that were blowing smoke and lighted up etc crashed on their multi-conduit circuits and woke me up we pulled the plug at 2am and went and crashed for a few hours. The next day Aaron and Avery showed up and we did all sorts of crap. The best part was when Willy and Roel had their Pershings going and Aaron was driving a recovery truck with my Tiger on the back and we did combat like that. Un-fuckin'-believable. We have to get that going at Danville too. Now we all took pictures of Willy's garage, and it's really hard to describe it,and you keep have to tell yourself that he has two other storage units too. It's basically a two-car garage filled to the brim with portable shelving on their own aisles. There's so much stuff, from so many RC venues it wasn't funny. You could litterally stay looking at stuff for hours and not move very far, I know as I found myself doing that, until someone would rescue me and get us going on the next thing. Most everyone missed it, but Willy's wife Yvonne showed me what she does, which is mainly Indian art, which is describing it too simplistically, but they're really some treasure to behold. She's got a lot of different stuff going on there too, anwhere from an old Stagecoach sawed off shotgun(pre-Wells-Fargo) to CSA officers swords. I didn't realize how long I was up there talking until Aaron had to go and everyone said I was gone for awhile. Incredible stuff across the board. There wasn't much rest that weekend, and I was thoroughly wiped out when I got back. I had originally planned to leave at 2pm. That crap went by the wayside and finally wound up leaving at 5:55pm. The drive through the mountains and the roads were excellent too. That is until you get around Nat's house where I-64 is in it's endless construction mode and I sat for an hour and a half at a road construction site that all the workers had left, and it was midnight. It was still worth it all. I know I'm not mentioning a lot, but some of the fun like Willy playing dodge with the mail boxes I can't describe ha ha ha. I really want to thank our great hosts Willy and Yvonne for this weekend and to everyone that showed up.
Thanks for the blast of a great time.
