my German friends are a step ahead , they do have a 1/16 scale military train already in use
railroad tank transporters
the "Deutsche Reichsbahn" used 2 different type of flat-cars for the tank transporting
a 4 axle configuration for weights up to a Panther ,
anything above they used the 6 axle versions
